The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has opened the option-cum-preference selection window for candidates who appeared in the SSC CGL 2024 Tier 2 exam. Applicants can submit their post and department preferences through the official website ssc.gov.in.
As per the official notification, the last date to submit the SSC CGL 2024 option-cum-preference form is February 27, 2025, until 5 PM.Candidates must log in via the Candidate Login section and select their preferred posts and departments under the “My Application” tab. The official notice states that candidates can modify their preferences only within this period, and the last submitted preference will be considered final. After selecting their choices, candidates must ensure they click the “SUBMIT” button to complete the process.

The SSC has also released the final vacancy list for SSC CGL 2024 recruitment. This year, a total of 18,174 vacancies will be filled. The category-wise distribution is as follows: 7,567 vacancies for Unreserved (UR) candidates, 2,762 for Scheduled Caste (SC), 1,606 for Scheduled Tribe (ST), 4,521 for Other Backward Classes (OBC), and 1,718 for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam was conducted in computer-based mode from September 9 to 26, 2024. The Tier 1 results were announced on December 5, 2024, shortlisting candidates for the Tier 2 exam, which took place from January 18 to 20, 2025, and on January 31, 2025.
